3 birthday parties in 6 days

We went to Caroline's 4th birthday party last Sunday and had fun coloring and playing on the blow up slide. Today Makayla & Avery both had their 3rd birthday parties. Makayla's was scheduled for last Saturday but she was sick so it got postponed. We started the party filled day @ Makayla's for BBQ, cake & ice cream then headed next door to Avery's for more cake & ice cream. Emerson had a blast at all 3 parties. She really enjoyed being able to play outside all day today. She went from toy to toy ALL DAY! She really likes slides but also likes to jump so she mostly went back & forth between the trampoline & bouncy things. She didn't take a nap until almost 4 & crashed as soon as she slowed down. After Emer's nap we went back to Makayla's for a little more BBQ & then she called it an early night after a quick bath. We are all looking forward to a relaxing Sunday.

19 months

Our sweet girl is getting very independent. She definitely knows what she wants and will let you know in a heartbeat.
She is also such a sweet, loving child.

Emerson trying on my house shoes. She REALLY likes my flip flops.

Quentin took off work Monday and we played outside.

Our baby girl melts my heart so many times a day. I am so blessed to be her mommy.

Jilly

Well Quentin found the Zhu Zhu pet tonight!! "Jilly" had found her way under the bed in the guest room. Emerson was excited and played with her the rest of the night. That thing is out of control. I understand why kids are crazy for them.

zoo day

We took Emerson to the zoo again Saturday. I am not sure who likes going more, us or Emerson? The weather was beautiful and we all enjoyed our time outside. We LOVE our zoo membership!

Emerson liked the sea lion show.

Hours of fun

Well, maybe minutes of fun BUT quite a few minutes.
I picked up some great northern beans while grocery shopping with the hopes that they would entertain Emerson for at least a couple minutes. Let me tell you, the beans held her attention the WHOLE time I cooked dinner last Wednesday. I was so excited! I gave her some small Rubbermaid containers, lids & spoons and she went to town. She also played with the beans again this afternoon. The below pictures are from last week.

CAUTION: CUTENESS

We were teased with "Spring like" weather this weekend but loved every minute of it! Quentin worked outside Saturday so Emerson and I played inside & outside. Of course, I had to take advantage of the sun light & take pictures.

She was not happy that I took away her juice. I just wanted a picture without the sippy cup.

better with sippy

Valentine's day

I really enjoy February. Maybe it is all the hearts, red, pink and glitter or maybe it is because my birthday is the day after Valentine's day. Actually, it is probably a little of both. We had a lazy but FANTASTIC Valentine's day/my birthday weekend. We had heart themed breakfast & lunch on V-day then Q grilled us a delicious dinner. Emerson made her Daddy a valentine and we all exchanged gifts. Emerson got a small box of chocolates and a Zhu Zhu pet. The Zhu Zhu pet, "Jilly" went missing the day after Valentine's day & has yet to be found. We have looked EVERYWHERE! I guess she will turn up one day.

Georgia on my mind

Emerson and I tagged along with Quentin on a business trip to Atlanta last week. My dear friend Jeri and her family moved to Atlanta last year and invited us to stay with them while Quentin worked. As we left our house I had that feeling I was forgetting something. It turns out I was forgetting my camera!! So, I relied on my sweet friend and not so reliable cell phone camera. We had so much fun with our friends. We ate great food and did a lot of catching up. Most of the pictures were taken @ this cool gym like place called Southern Prep. I would say we DEFINITELY tired the kiddos out.

Super Greg with both of his children @ dinner. All 3 children were CRAZY during dinner & I am sure everyone was happy to see us go when we left but we had a BLAST! Greg's face says it all. (Sorry, phone pic)
Grayson & Emerson being sweet the morning we left.

WOW! The last couple post have made me realize she has been wearing that "sweet heart" shirt a lot. I will cut back after Valentine's day

18 months

Happy 18th month birthday baby girl!!!

I seem to be having a hard time wrapping my brain around this. I can not believe it has been a year and a half since we brought our "baby cakes" home. Emerson is very sweet and affectionate but has become opinionated and definitely knows what she wants. She enjoys playing with shapes and puzzles & has become quite adventurous. Today her polka dot chair was in the middle of the room and she climbed onto the ottoman and flipped into her chair. TWICE!

She is the most wonderful gift I have ever been given.
Enjoy the following pictures of Emerson playing and enjoying her Muddy's cupcake today.

17 months

Another month has passed & Emerson has learned so much. She is saying "I love you" but it sounds like "la lou". She dances & spin in circles all day long. She still likes books & dogs. She LOVES Olivia & her mega blocks. She has discovered that she can ride in the wagon that came with her mega blocks and ALWAYS wants to be pulled around. Blueberries, spinach & bread seem to be her favorite foods right now. She has started signing when she has a dirty diaper and even brought me a new diaper one day this week & signed that she needed to be changed. Maybe we will be able to start the potty training process soon. A girl can hope, can't she?

She couldn't touch the ground 2 months ago.

She LOVES sidewalk chalk.

making music with Daddy
looking cute

This was my rocking chair when I was little.

Our little daredevil. She was dancing to Lady GaGa, who she loves & signs/says "more" when her songs end. Really nice, I know.

Cotton Bowl

We had a boring New Years Eve @ home this year because we left very early New Years Day to head to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl. We did not make it last year because Emerson was so young but went in 2004 and had a blast!! This year was different with a baby but definitely different in a good way. Like I said, we left early New Years Day & were half way to Dallas before Emerson woke up. When we got to Dallas we checked into the hotel & headed straight for the mall. I LOVE the malls in Dallas!!! I could really do some damage. HA! Of course, we had to check out the American Girl store. Emerson was in heaven! She loves babies and loved all of the big girls running around the store. That store is AMAZING!!! You can buy ANYTHING for those dolls, they even had a shoe section. When we finally got out of the store we went to dinner & turned in early so we would be ready for "the big game". Saturday we got up, ate breakfast & went to the stadium for the game. Can I just say, WOW? The stadium is HUGE & very nice. Our seats were high up but I don't think there is a bad seat in that stadium. It was really hard not to watch the "big screen" the whole time. The game was not pretty but Ole Miss pulled it off & won. HOTTY TODDY! We decided to sleep in the next day & then headed home. Emerson was such a trooper & hung out most of the ride home (thanks to cartoons on the laptop). I did end up in the back seat most of the way home but she was still wonderful, considering.

Sorry, I know there are TONS of pictures but I can never decide which are my faves. Enjoy.

Emerson had enough of sitting towards the end of the game so we went to play. I think the pictures turned out pretty good considering I took them with my phone camera.

Teresa, Emerson, Tripp & Quentin after the game

Telling the "ducks" in the hotel goodbye. The manager let her feed the swans & even gave her a stuffed swan when Emerson did not want to leave her new friends.
