What's been going on this week?

Emerson will be 1 in a couple weeks and is really learning all kinds of new things. She is standing by herself and actually keeping her balance. She likes to play in the kitchen, especially with the blinds and dishwasher.

We are getting ready for Emerson's first birthday around our house. I am making Emerson's smash cake and wanted to see how big it would be and how it would cook so we made a practice cake. I am going to decorate it differently but I think it turned out cute.

Our walking buddies are on vacation and we have taken the week off. Before they left Tuesday they came by to bring us some yummy tomatoes. Emerson and Ella took the opportunity to play. I love this picture of Ella telling us how old she is going to be and Emerson just watching her. Emerson can now walk with her stroller all by herself.

I got out my old rocking chair that I used as a child and Emerson loved it. We have gotten it out one time before but she really didn't seem very interested. Today she crawled right up to it, rocked it, stood in it & rocked in it.

Daddy and Emerson spent some quality time together last Sunday. Mommy went to Memphis with the girls from the cove for our friend Liz's baby shower. Liz looked great and got a lot of cute little things. I can not wait to meet little Parker Frank.

She was so happy when I got home even though I don't think she noticed I was gone. She and Daddy had a blast. Daddy even took her to buy a new toy. He is such a sucker for her sweet face. ;-)

Whew! I think I am just about caught up! I have one more cute pic of Emerson doing something crazy with her legs (as usual).
Hope everyone has a super weekend!

Little Quentin

These days it is really hard to get on a laptop around Emerson. She has pushed my laptop off the couch. Quentin has had to replace my keyboard because she broke the space bar. She is also very interested in how things work. (Could she follow in daddy's footsteps???) She turns over all of her toys to see how they work.

Today she knocked my blackberry off the couch and the back popped off. Emerson got on the floor and sat there for 10 minutes trying to put it back on.

11 months & the 8th tooth

Only one more month until our little miss turns 1 year old! We have started planning and are getting very excited about her day. Also, FINALLY, that 8th tooth has broken skin. Maybe now she will start feeling better. She has been chewing on everything and hasn't been her smiley self the last couple days.

Lots of catching up....

I have been playing catch up on the blog today so be sure to scroll down so you don't miss any posts.

Ahhh, Baby Einstein!! The only way I get Emerson's nails clipped.

What Ma Ma???

4th of July

Emerson loves her Uncle Kale.

Happy Birthday America!!!

Emerson had a wonderful first 4th. We started the day with ribs & swimming. Then finished with the fireworks @ Snowden Grove in Southaven. Emerson stayed up late enough to see about half of the fireworks and she loved them (just like her mama). Maybe next year she will see the finale.

This was taken just before she passed out.

Such a hard life

Emerson was all tuckered out after a 5 miles walk/ride.

Into everything...

Miss Emer is into everything these days. I know that I say that every couple posts but the things she finds to get into amazes me. She has always been interested in Roxy's cage but has never tried to get in, until now...

She also found the tiny rocks in the fireplace the same day. Does anyone know how to clean these dang things??? They are so dusty!!

This is what's keeping her occupied while I catch up on the blog.

Swimming fun

Our sweet neighbors invited us over for some relief from the heat yesterday. We had a blast and Emerson loved watching the older kids (& Ella) play. Thanks Middleton's.

10 months old

Our precious girl turned 10 months old last week! Where has the time gone? Her personality is really starting to show and she is getting better at letting us know what she wants. She is trying all kinds of new foods and, so far, likes everything she has tried. She still only has 7 teeth but she is acting like the 8th one is on it's way. She pulls up on anything and everything but has also had her share of falls. Maybe she will get the hang of being upright before to long.

Sweet baby girl

Enjoying a little baseball.

If you look hard enough you can see all 7 teeth (8th will be through any day).

We LOVE our buggies!!

This is much better than laying around!

Sorry for the short delay. We have just been enjoying Emerson. Other than her new accomplishments there has not been a whole lot going on. Emerson is everywhere and officially into EVERYTHING!! She is also pulling up and cruising.

Just hanging with "Dada"

Here are some pics I took of Quentin and Emerson playing outside this afternoon.

A' Fair

Saturday we went to the Hernando square for A' Fair. We enjoy seeing all of our friends and watching all of the people. Emerson likes being in her stroller and loves being outside so she had a blast. The Ole Miss baseball team played that afternoon so we had to deck her out in her red and blue. Her dress was blue and you really could not tell it was a dress when she was sitting in the stroller. Needless to say, she got called a he about 5 times before we found a tent selling bows. We then started looking for a bow that would stay in what little hair she has. Then we met the nicest lady who made us take a red bow and told us to just keep putting it back in her hair every time it fell out. The lady would not take our money but told us to buy more bows from her when Emerson gets more hair. We will be purchasing many more bows from http://www.cjsbows.com/ in the future. We love our little (but growing) town.

Doesn't she look adorable in the bow that would only stay in the little bit of hair she has on the center of her head?
She was out after a busy morning.

9 months old

I teared up tonight as I downloaded these pics to my laptop and looked through older pictures of Emerson. She has grown and changed so much in the last 9 months. I love her more and more everyday. She is so sweet. She is playing patty cake, saying "mama", and clicking her tongue. It cracks me up watching her play on the floor. She crawls around playing with her toys and I just can't believe she wasn't even rolling over 6 months ago. She has changed my life in so many ways. What did Quentin and I do before this angel arrived?
